Quartz of Sondalo: an example of sustainable recovery of resources and mining waste minimization, also in the light of recent European initiatives.

MINERALI INDUSTRIALI srl has been trying to reduce to a minimum its mining waste for several years: the quartz quarry of Sondalo is a clear example of that.

Indeed, on the one hand the (underground) quarry is exploited so as to reduce waste rocks as much as possible. On the other hand, the treatments carried out in the factory allow for the best possible exploitation of this resource, also thanks to an accurate commercial policy.

In this respect, MINERALI INDUSTRIALI srl has always been seeking continuous improvement: its cooperation with the University of Turin, further developed in the framework of EU recent initiatives (proj. SMART GROUND) and still ongoing, has allowed giving the proper importance to the recovery of resources in their entirety, both here and in other sites, offering starting points for further future developments.
